POWERED BY FANARWhen I first joined the QSTP Internship Program, I saw it as an opportunity to gain experience. What I didn’t expect was how quickly that experience would evolve into real responsibility, growth, and impact.
As a Marketing Intern at IUGO, one of the startups incubated at QSTP, no two days are ever the same. Each week brings new challenges, whether it’s crafting LinkedIn content, designing visual assets, or contributing to the company’s positioning and messaging. One of the most exciting aspects of my role has been working on projects that are not simply internal exercises, but real content used to represent the company externally.
A typical week often starts with aligning on priorities, which may include preparing social media campaigns, refining brand visuals, or supporting communication around major events such as Web Summit Qatar. From there, I move into execution: writing captions that resonate with professional audiences, designing visuals that reflect a premium tech brand, and continuously refining work based on feedback.
One of the highlights of my internship was contributing to the communication and content surrounding the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between IUGO and Meeza during Web Summit Qatar. Being involved in work connected to such a significant partnership made me realize the real-world impact of what we do, and how marketing helps shape the way these milestones are communicated.
Beyond technical skills, this internship has strengthened my ability to think strategically. I’ve learned how to communicate complex ideas, such as AI-driven platforms, in a way that is clear, engaging, and valuable to business audiences. I’ve also developed a deeper understanding of brand consistency, and how every detail, from color choices to wording, contributes to how a company is perceived.

Of course, the journey hasn’t been without challenges. One of the biggest was adapting quickly to the expectations of a fast-paced professional environment. Unlike academic work, where guidelines are often clearly defined, real-world tasks require initiative, adaptability, and decision-making. I had to learn how to take ownership, ask the right questions, and deliver work that meets both creative and business objectives.
What made a significant difference was the support and constructive feedback I received throughout the experience. It helped me refine my work, approach challenges from a more professional perspective, and grow more confident in both my ideas and execution.
Looking back, this internship has shifted the way I see marketing. I no longer view it as simply content creation. I see it as purposeful storytelling, where every message contributes to a larger vision.
Most importantly, this experience has shown me the value of stepping outside my comfort zone. Growth doesn’t come from doing what you already know. It comes from being challenged, making mistakes, and improving every step of the way.
As I continue this journey, I’m excited to keep learning, contributing, and pushing myself further. My experience at QSTP is not just something I will add to my CV. It is something that is actively shaping how I think, work, and approach my future career.
